One of the most critical levels in this business was at the AD level as it takes the day-to-day strain of the business from a client management perspective. They are extremely busy key members of the business with many varied parts to their roles. The daily effectiveness buck stops with them.
With a high expectation of promotion amongst them but a limited number of roles available in the business, keeping these key people motivated and in the business is extremely important. One aspect of this programme had to be developing them so they were ready when roles came up as well as showing them that they are important to the business through this investment in them personally.
To put together a flexible, bespoke leadership training programme for 46 AD level staff to train and also nurture, retain and maintain these key people.
A modular programme consisting of five workshops, delivered over 8 months including a launch, 1-1 coaching sessions, group coaching forums and an action learning session to reinforce the learnings, and a graduation at the end of the programme.
The programme also used an internally managed ‘credits’ system to help them to be exposed to a particular set of experiences to be promotion ready.
To develop delegates emotional intelligence to enable to them to lead better – incorporates an emotional intelligence 360° tool.
To build understanding of ‘the self’, its impact in terms of different behaviours and communications, and thus achieve goals as a leader.
Provides individuals with the ability to build and maintain, trusting and valued relationships, with stakeholders and others.
Delegates learn to sort and identify problems, use a framework to build decision-making and business problem solving competencies.

The client has reported greatly improved levels of motivation, with leaders performing better with both teams and clients. There has been a greater level of retaining staff (82%) and also a growth in the graduates being internally promoted (41%). As at February 2024, we have successfully delivered this programme to cohorts every year since 2017.
A brilliant blend of theory and practical, and gets you thinking in a completely different way... provides a greater awareness of commercial challenges and how to find and pitch solutions. It was one of the most challenging things I’ve done, but great value. It’s enormously beneficial for my career – I’m exhausted!!!
